Our office is proud to remain at the forefront of dental technology and practice. With ongoing education, our dentists constantly evaluate new advancements in dental technology. When they discover one that they think will improve our patients’ experience or results, we bring it on. Here are some of the technologies we offer.

Gone are the days of traditional teeth cleaning. We welcome you to come and experience the airflow spa treatment. Cleaning is now less invasive, as we strive for the highest level of comfort, safety and efficiency.

The Airflow prophylaxis system is a more gentle alternative to traditional cleaning and polishing treatments in a single procedure. Imagine, a spa treatment in your mouth! No more rubber cups or polishing paste while cutting out multiple power tools. The device uses a fine powder and high pressure water stream to clean plaque biofilm, staining and soft calculus deposits from the tooth surface faster without harming tooth structure. The beauty of this system is the warmer water, set to 40 degrees. This reduces sensitivity around the gum line and even in deep pockets. As the airflow device does not make contact with the tooth, it further reduces any discomfort. It has been proven to be highly effective to reach areas which would typically be inaccessible such as grooves in molars and deep gum pockets and reduces bacteria on the tongue and palate area. This system further allows for adequate cleaning with no risk of scratching implant abutments and crowns making it ideal for maintenance around dental implants and prosthetic work. The airflow system is fantastic for cleaning around orthodontic appliances which often harbour hidden bacteria.

A disclosing solution is used to make plaque visible in areas which may otherwise be difficult to assess, this not only helps the clinician to clean all areas effectively but also shows you any areas of concern, to improve and maintain cleaning at home. Dental plaque, also known as biofilm, is the main etiologic factor for many dental concerns such as tooth decay and periodontal disease. Once biofilm is removed, calculus and dental caries become easier to detect and diagnose.

The airflow prophylaxis system is safe for all ages.

Intraoral Camera

If you want to truly understand what’s going on in your mouth and make decisions about the best care for you, you need to see your mouth as we see it. The intraoral camera takes detailed images of the inside of your mouth, allowing you to see what’s going on so you can make an informed decision about what treatments are best for you.

Carestream Digital X-Rays

Digital X-Rays allow us to get more detailed images of what’s going on in your mouth using less radiation, up to 75% less, in fact! Because these digital x-rays are available more quickly, too, and can be shared on a computer monitor so you can see them along with Dr. Lee, it both helps speed your visit and facilitate informed decision-making on your part.

cbct machineCBCT

Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) is a digital 3D image of the entire head. It includes the teeth, mouth, jaw, neck, ears, nose, and throat. Dr. Lee uses these images for more accurate diagnosis as well as treatment planning.

BioPAK Diagnostic System

Diagnosing TMD accurately is essential for long-term treatment. To accomplish this, Dr. Lee utilises the BioPAK Diagnostic System. This BioPAK Diagnostic System includes several parts.

Joint Vibration Analysis

The system starts by analyzing your jaw joints by evaluating friction and motion that occurs when the jaw joints move. This is an easy, non-invasive, and fast way to measure the temporomandibular joint’s function for accurate diagnosis.

Electromyography

Electromyography measures the facial muscles position when resting, clenched, and when chewing. It also shows the reactions from muscles in the neck and head. Dr. Lee can also use this to measure bite position stages throughout TMJ treatment to check progress.

T-Scan

T-Scan is a digital bite measurement device. It uses a thin computer sensor that you bite down on to tell us exactly how much force you’re biting down with at each point where your teeth touch. The measurement is in real-time, too, so it can show us intense but transient forces that can lead to tooth chipping. T-Scan is an ideal tool to help with TMJ treatment, denture fitting, and all cosmetic and restorative dentistry that can potentially change your bite.

Soft-Tissue Laser

Traditional gum therapies are done with blades and other manual tools, but now we can do them with a soft tissue laser, which makes the procedure quicker, more precise, and less uncomfortable. The laser also has a sterilizing effect, which makes it more effective for periodontal treatment.

NTI Device

NTI device

The NTI Device is a simple approach to treating morning headaches. If you are waking up with headaches, it’s likely that teeth clenching is to blame. You may bite with several times more force at night than you do during the day, which can not only wear down your teeth, it can overstimulate and irritate the trigeminal nerve, which then causes your headaches. By diverting biting force to the front of your mouth, the NTI reduces the force with which you bite at night, which can reduce trigeminal irritation and headaches.

Air Abrasion Dentistry

If you are afraid of the dentist because of the sound or feel of the dental drill, then you have nothing to worry about with Dr. Lee. We can use air abrasion to remove decayed and damaged areas of your teeth, which means none of the sound, vibration, or discomfort associated with a dental drill.

Tooth-Coloured Fillings

If you don’t want metal fillings that will turn black, looking as bad or worse than the decay they replace, we have alternatives for you. We utilise both composite (plastic and ceramic) and completely ceramic fillings to give you great-looking fillings that are not only hard to spot, they may even strengthen your teeth.

Neuromuscular Dentures

Dentures don’t have to be uncomfortable. They don’t have to slip out of your mouth when you talk. They don’t have to keep you from eating all the foods you enjoy. FOY Dentures™ is a remarkable new technology that utilises neuromuscular principles to improve the fit and function of dentures.

The Wand

Most of the injections done today use syringes, whose technology hasn’t been changed in over 100 years. We use a new advanced injection tool called the Wand. This allows for enhanced control, comfort, and functionality and ultimately a more accurate injection. Many of our patients report that they can’t even feel it!
